West Loveland Neighbors

As publisher of West Loveland Neighbors, I get to do two things I love best! To select interesting local topics for inclusion and write about some of the people and places that make life so good in Loveland. I work with an amazing team - Photographer Christina Gressianu, Designer Kristin McKendrick and Content Coordinator Diane McInturff, who are creative geniuses and collaborators extraordinaire! Plus I get to meet the fine folks in our community - both readers and sponsors, who share their talents and expertise in our community. It's all a win/win/win. :)

October 2011 cover - 5280

The work of Angela Canada Hopkins fascinates me. Her images grace magazine and periodical covers. Her bright colors and interesting shapes converted a 5-surfaced electrical transformer box into a multidimensional work of art as part of Loveland, Colorado's Transformations project.

See the full article here as a .pdf and perhaps you'll be fascinated by her work, too.

2010 Dec cover 5280

Maryjo - Recording for Blind & Dyslexic

Maryjo enjoyed the experience of recording for the blind and
dyslexic this past October on "Poets' Day" at what was known as the Denver location of Recording for the Blind & Dyslexic.

She was inspired by Denver's Poet Laureate Chris Ransick, who invited members of Colorado Authors' League to volunteer. What author wouldn't want to enable readers? Think about volunteering - it is interesting, and you know you are doing something valuable in your corner of the world.
